Welcome to Bell Teacher Academy
An introduction to Bell Teacher Academy by our Head of Education, Silvana Richardson.
Bell Teacher Academy is hosted at our flagship school of Bell Cambridge. Steeped in both history and inspiration, Bell Cambridge was opened in 1955 by Frank Bell, a University of Cambridge graduate with a powerful vision for the future of language teaching and international co-operation.
Bell Teacher Academy embodies these values through the global community of teachers it creates every summer. The programme seeks to improve, develop and collectively share best teaching practice among this community, so that teachers can collectively maximise the impact they have in their classrooms, and ultimately on their students.
We hope that Bell Teacher Academy will inspire teacher trainees to aim high as they passionately pursue their personal and professional development.

Cambridge is known as the ‘city of cycling’ as many of its residents choose to cycle around the city. If you are studying for a short amount of time, you can easily hire a bike from Rutland Cycling.
However, if you are staying for a long course, it may be cheaper to purchase a bike, either second hand or brand new from shops like: Rutland Cycling, Cycle King, and Giant Cambridge. Just remember to always wear a helmet, use a good quality lock, and never buy second-hand until you have seen the bike.
