Bell Cambridge Stars in a New TV Show… Shala Shala Premieres on 5 February 2025!
Exciting news! A brand-new TV show featuring Bell Cambridge is premiering on 5 February 2025, on JTBC and YouTube. The programme follows five famous South Korean actors as they take on the challenge of learning English in the UK.
A Real English Learning Experience at Bell Cambridge
For two weeks, these actors, (Dong-Il Sung, Kwang-Kyu Kim, Ki-Jun Um, Hyuk Jang, and Seung-Hwan Shin), studied English just like any other student at Bell Cambridge. They took part in real classes, stayed in on-campus accommodation and with host families, experienced daily life in an English-speaking environment, and explored the beautiful city of Cambridge.
The filming of Shala Shala took place at Bell Cambridge in August 2024, and to make the experience as real as possible, the producers used 50 hidden cameras around the school! These cameras captured natural, unscripted moments of the actors learning English, talking to teachers and classmates, and navigating everyday situations in a new language.
Bell Cambridge was chosen for its beautiful campus, high-quality teaching, and immersive environment, making it the perfect place for the actors to develop their English skills. With large gardens, historic buildings, and modern learning facilities, our school provides a truly inspiring setting for students from all over the world.
It’s Never Too Late to Learn English
One of the most important messages of Shala Shala is that learning English is for everyone, no matter their age. The actors in the show are all in their 40s and 50s, and for many of them, learning English was a personal challenge. Some wanted to improve their skills for acting in international films, while others simply wanted to be able to travel more confidently with their families.
The show is proof that it’s never too late to start learning a language. Whether for education and career opportunities, travel, or personal growth, anyone can take on the challenge – just like these five actors did at Bell Cambridge!
